About Us
Film cameras deserve a second life.
At Haus of Focus, we restore classic film cameras and lenses that still have something to say. Every piece is carefully tested, cleaned, serviced and resealed where needed. Nothing overdone, nothing unnecessary, just brought back to the way it should feel.
We’re especially drawn to cameras and lenses that balance character with usability. Pieces you’ll actually want to carry. Optics that render something a little different.
Alongside individual cameras, we build ready-to-shoot kits, thoughtfully pairing bodies, lenses, straps and essentials so you can spend less time researching and more time shooting.
Ready for the next roll.
We believe the best cameras are the ones that get used. That’s the philosophy behind every restoration, every kit we build, and ultimately why Haus of Focus exists.
Our Story
Haus of Focus started the same way many great hobbies do: with a love of cameras and photography.
We grew up in the 1970s and 1980s, when photography meant loading a roll of film into a camera and carefully choosing every shot. We remember the excitement of finishing a roll, dropping it off to be developed, and waiting days to see whether the photos had turned out as we’d hoped.
Like many photographers, we eventually embraced digital cameras and spent years learning new techniques, experimenting with lenses, and enjoying the convenience that modern technology brings. But over time, we found ourselves drawn back to film photography.
There’s something special about slowing down and being fully present when taking a photograph. With film, every frame matters. You think more carefully about composition, light, and timing. The process feels more intentional, and the results often feel more rewarding.
Today, film photography is a huge part of our lives. We still enjoy shooting film regularly and occasionally even develop our own rolls at home. Along the way, we began collecting, testing, repairing, and using vintage cameras. Before long, our hobby had grown far beyond what could reasonably fit on a shelf.
That’s how Haus of Focus was born.
What started as a personal passion became an opportunity to share our knowledge and enthusiasm with others. Whether you’re returning to film photography after many years away, or picking up your very first roll of film, we’re here to help you find a camera you’ll love using.
Every camera we sell is carefully inspected and tested because we believe vintage cameras should be enjoyed, not displayed in a cupboard. Our goal is simple: to help more people experience the joy of shooting film.
Thanks for being part of the journey.
